Hello,

we would like to share our Call for Papers for the Argument Mining and Empirical Legal Research (AMELR) workshop at ICAIL 2025.

The AMELR workshop addresses key challenges in Legal Argument Mining, including:

  • Creating gold standard datasets
  • Developing reliable models
  • Establishing reproducibility standards
  • Integrating NLP into empirical legal research with examples of such implementations

We welcome submissions related to these topics. Works in progress and contributions from junior scholars and underrepresented groups are encouraged. On-line participation is possible.

Important dates:

  • Early Draft Deadline (max. 8 pages): Extended to May 1, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: May 15, 2025
  • Workshop Date: Full-day on June 20, 2025
  • Camera Ready Papers Submission for potential Archival-Track (max. 8 pages): June 30, 2025
