Hi all,

As part of Hack the Law weekend in Cambridge (UK), we're launching the LLMxLaw Research Competition—a chance to turn a research idea into a funded placement at Stanford.

Pitch your idea at the intersection of LLMs and law. The winners will spend one month at Stanford's Legal Innovation through Frontier Technology Lab (liftlab) in Summer 2026, working alongside liftlab fellows with dedicated mentorship to develop your pitch into publishable, high-impact research.

The competition is open to students at all levels and across all disciplines. Two placements are available: one reserved for a Cambridge student, and one open to students from any university. Each winner receives a $5,000 grant (paid in $ or £ equivalent) to cover travel and accommodation.

The research competition runs alongside the LLMxLaw Hackathon and LLMxLaw Conference—links below!

We hope to see you(r students) in June! 😊
