Any plan to enable real-time multi-user collaboration on one live notebook?

I think it's useful for team work, but not sure where to start. What could be obstacles? Is there any ongoing work on this?

It's planned, but doing it well is a big, complicated task, and there's not much to show yet. Matthias can give you more info.

If you want something today, SageMathCloud has real-time collaboration working as a layer on top of notebooks.
