Can I run C++ interactively with Jupyter Notebook?

I am trying to install C++ Kernel on mac using these instructions.http://shuvomoy.github.io/blog/programming/2016/08/04/Cpp-kernel-for-Jupyter.html
However after I launch a C++ notebook the kernel goes dead after few seconds. What should I tell more to put things into more context here?
