Hi Jupyter community members,

I'm so pleased that we'll be having our first Jupyter community conference, JupyterCon, in August. Every day I'm amazed by the innovative ways that people are using Jupyter notebook. JupyterCon is our chance to share these Jupyter uses in person.

The Call for Proposals for JupyterCon is open now. Our "speaker outreach" team wants to help you submit a talk to JupyterCon. We realized that you may have questions, like:
  • I'm not sure that my idea is worth submitting. Should I submit it?
  • Speaking makes me nervous, but I have some interesting work with Jupyter. Should I submit a talk proposal?
  • I've never spoken at a conference before and they're probably looking for very experienced speakers. Is it worthwhile for me to submit a talk?
The answer is YES!

Our "speaker outreach" team is here to help. We'll be holding weekly office hours to help answer your questions and provide encouragement. The first block of office hours are:

  • Today:      9 am PST to 12 pm PST
  • Friday:     11 am PST to 2 pm PST
  • Saturday:  8 am PST to 11 am PST

Join us on our jupyter/jupyter gitter channel for office hours. Or feel free to email me directly and I'll make sure that one of the members of the outreach team sends you a reply.

I'm so excited for you to submit a proposal now or anytime until March 7.

Thanks,

Carol
