is enterprise_gateway still maintained ?

There are no new releases after Feb 2024 in the enterprise_gateway.

Is there any reason why no new versions are released.. or is it abandoned

Yes, we are still maintaining the Jupyter Enterprise Gateway. We are trying to wrap up some current prs and will work on a release after that. 

We are also working on the next generation for the gateway supporting provisioners -> https://github.com/jupyter-server/gateway_provisioners
