Hello Jupyter Community,


I would like to provide notice for the 2026 Project Jupyter Executive Council election. 


Pursuant to Project Jupyter’s Council Membership and Elections, the Executive Council consists of 6 Council members who are elected for a 2-year term. EC members are chosen by both current EC members and the Jupyter Community.


(3) Executive Council members elected annually by active contributors are open for election. Any UoC member is eligible for candidacy in an election to the EC provided that they are a valid candidate for serving a new term. Review the eligibility requirements.


SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATIONS

We encourage anyone interested in nominating themselves or someone else to review the outlined roles and responsibilities before submitting a nomination. If you are nominating someone on their behalf, please ensure they are aware of your nomination and will accept the role and responsibilities if selected. 


ELECTION TIMELINE


Election Timeline

Wednesday, October 22

Nomination registration period starts. Send a call for nominees to the Union of Council.

Sunday, November 9

Nomination period ends, 11:59 pm PDT

Monday, November 10 - Wednesday, November 12

Validation Period of nominee submissions conducted by current EC members. 

Friday, November 14

Slate of respective nominees and ballot or link to an electronic voting system sent to the Union of Councils.

Sunday, November 23

The voting period ends at 11:59 pm PDT

Monday, November 24 - Tuesday, November 25

The current Executive Council members select their EC-elected member(s) from the list of nominees not elected.

Tuesday, November 25

Send the conflict of interest disclosure form

Wednesday, December 3

Conflict of interest disclosure form closes. 

Thursday, December 4 - Friday, December 5

Review period of the conflict of interest disclosure forms by current EC members.

Monday, December 8

The election winners announced

Wednesday, January 1, 2026

Newly elected officers begin their term.
