Hi Dan,
1&1 was an expense to the JRHOA that discontinued when we changed to our new website,
Juniper Ridge Resort. We verified that we only had appx. 6 residents using the JR.net.email in our process. There is a limited number of emails included with an option for additional emails for an additonal price. We maintained the juniper ridge resort domain along with Board and committees emails. It was thought it not worth the additional expense, especially when there is free ones available such as Google's gmail. We did attempt to notify those residents with the JR.net.email but considered it a minor issue with all the changes being made. As far as notice, the September 27, 2013 Board Meeting Minutes served in providing information about a change to At Home Net. for our new website. After rereading, I see those minutes do not included explicit information about the discontinuation of 1&1. It was no one's intention to create a problem with this change, so we certainly apologize for this inconvenience of an interruption of service to those members that still used the jr.net.emails. We think the new website will be a huge improvement, especially administratively as homeowners will be able to keep their own personal information including emails updated. One data base v.s. several for JRHOA communication to the community is very exciting for us administratively. The Communications Committee is still working along with Jeannie Johnson, JRHOA Admin. Assist. as webmasters on our new website. Training plans for residents is forthcoming and TBA. It is premature to state how committees or club may use the site however it is also being investigated. Maggie St. Laurent sits on Communications Committee and is asking emails be directed to her with problems pertaining to the new website.
