Good Morning -

BD numbers were very thin at the Super Crit in Beloit. For the few that went, you can hold your head high today. Here is the "Cliff Notes" version of a race report.

Tristan Abbott won a prime in the Cat. 4 field.....Nice Work!!!!

Mark Badger was in the Masters 4/5 field and looked good.

Marshall Greene and I did the Masters 1/2/3/4 race. Marshall stayed near the front putting in big efforts and bumping shoulders with the heads of state. A five man break got away and I almost brought them back with 2 to go, however came up short with the other teams blocking. Oh well. Also, I lost a game of paper, rock, scissors at the start line to my friend Cory, on who would lead who out at the finish. I did at least get to work on my finish a bit. (With that being said, I have work to do.)

Eric did the Cat. 3 race and will have to update us on that.

I look forward for the group rides to pick up again after the Spring Break and Easter excuses....I mean commitments....go away. Next race is the GDVC #1 on April 15th!!!!

Cheers,
Brian

Lee Sensenbrenner was there racing in the M1234 race as well, but didn't have his jersey yet. Let's get him his jersey, he looked good.

Subject: [bd-members] Super Crit - Report Cat 3

I did the Cat 3 race. Pace was fast (Garmin said 26.9mph avg). I tried twice to get a break going, one of which almost stuck, but the two bigger teams in the race, Burnham Racing and xXx wanted a bunch sprint, so my moves got neutralized pretty fast with lots of personnel to chase us down. Sat in for the rest of the race and ended up picking the wrong lead out train at the finish. With 2 turns to go went from 8th wheel to about 25th wheel when 3 of the guys on the front exploded in spectacular fashion, letting 2 new trains stream past. I tried to sprint through as many people as I could in the final straight and ended up 13th of 50 or so. I'm pretty happy with the result, especially being my first cat 3 race.
