Happy New Year to Everyone!

We have some upcoming merit badge sessions I wanted to remind you about. This weekend on Sunday, January 10th Mrs. Anne Bird will teach family life (an Eagle Merit badge) from 1:30-2:45 in the Village House. To sign up, the SCOUT (not his parents) need to email OR call Mrs. Bird. Mrs. Bird's email is abird...@sbcglobal.net and home phone is 847-251-9402. Please call or email to reserve your spot and no reservations from parents will be accepted by Mrs. Bird. The cost is $5 for the badge book so please bring it to the session and be on time. Family life is open to all scouts 6th grade and older.

Thank you also to Mrs. Margy Werd who will be hosting a communications  badge session at her home at 319 Essex Road on February 7th from 4-5:30 pm. To sign up for this session, please email Mrs. Werd at margarets...@me.com. This is open to 6th graders and older and is also an Eagle Merit badge.

Finally, thanks to Mrs. Jungbluth we are offering Citizenship in the Community on February 28th from 4-5:30 pm in the Village House. This is also an eagle merit badge and is open to 6th graders and older. Please email Mrs. Jungbluth at ekj...@me.com to reserve your spot for this session.

After you reserve your spot, the merit badge counselor will let you know if there is any work that needs to be done in advance of the session.

We strongly encourage the boys to work on these three Eagle Merit badges in the younger grades. Please remember you do NOT need to obtain a blue card for the badges that are offered by local merit badge counselors. The merit badge counselor will email Mrs. Baur or me when you complete the work required for the badge.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Heather Martin (6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grades)

Cindy Baur (7th, 9th and 11th grades)
