Hey Scouting Fans,
Tonight we have our last Scout meeting of the school year in the Sears gym. We will be practicing for the parade and having just a ton of fun. The boys should wear their Scout Shirts and Smiles.
Tuesday we will be our Board of Review at the Baur's home, We have just a ton of Scouts advancing and need your help. If we don't get enough Scouts we can't advance so please come out help ask a few questions, see some great smiles and a twinkle in a young man's eye's with a sense of accomplishment. Let Cindy and Heather know.
Sunday May 17 is Kenilworth's Memorial Day Parade. We will be meeting at Warwick Ave. at 1:45pm to get organized and lined up for the parade. We have some responsibilities for the parade. We need a trumpeter for the ceremony if there is a Scout that plays the Trumpet and can handle playing Taps in front of the public please let us know.
Once the parade and ceremony are finished the senior Scouts will be cooking for the town while the police department will be having a open house (usually handing out snow cones). The Court of Honor will be beginning at 4pm sharp. The newer families ask what is Court of Honor. Court of Honor is where we award the Scouts their badges and advancement in ranks however you have to attend, if you don't attend than you will have to wait for the next Court of Honor for the rank advancement and badges earned. This years May Court of Honor promises to be unlike any others. We have 9-10 Scouts that will have earned their Eagle rank, One Scout has been awarded the Adams award which is the Best Eagle project in the surrounding suburbs, another Scout has earned every badge possible and some by Boy Scouts of America. Please make sure your Scout is in attendance, dressed smartly, and you should come to to show support for your Scout. We have never seen such hard work done before in the Troop and just proud of all their accomplishments. Great job all!
Tonight is the last night for Dodge Ball any and all parents are welcome to show for just one wild Dodge Ball game (No Head Shots). On behalf of all the Leaders and Troop we would like to thank you for trusting us with your child, we know there are many choices and glad you've all chose Scouts, thanks again for a great year!
