Hi all

I wonder why I still receive this group e mail !

I registered for CFA level one for first exam for 2011 and I was studying
hard and had to give up the few activities I used to do: French classes ,
squash, gym, going out etc. then suddenly the revolution started back home
in Libya, Yes I am Libyan living in the UK, it was very emotional and so
difficult to concentrate on studying for the exam, works and keep up to date
with revolution, so I gave up.

Now as the revolution has succeeded, and I am still an engineer who wants to
change career, I am looking for my options, possibly GMAT then MBA but I am
not sure yet, what I am sure about is that unfortunately I would not be
taking CFA exams again.

so maybe I should unsubscribe from this group,

I wish best of luck to all of you.

Thanks

Hi tejas

L1 is not enough for a job, L2 + MBA is sureshot enough, L2 pass has good chances.

why would you go L2+MBA, why not just get L3 and the charter and then save 100 grand on your MBA costs?

I just believe CFA to be supplementary to MBA. Most employers in developing country like India believe the same. Internationally idk. I tried but CFA isn't popular in India from employer point of view. They prefer MBA with experience and/or CA/CPA without/with experience to CFA. I hope this changes soon though.

I am saying post L2 you can get a job with a little bit of luck and lots of contacts in India. However if u are an MBA u sure are on ur way to the top. I am not saying you should stop at L2, just that getting L2 and then looking out for a job and then clearing L3 while working is a good strategy. It takes you 1 year less to get the experience as well. ;-)

It all depends...In the USA for example, the CFA designation has more weight than a MBA, except  for a MBA from an Ivy league school of course. As far as employment is concerned, it depends on the local job market, connections and luck ;).

Hi Vikrant,

Count me in for L III, 2013. :)

No study plan yet, reading through the 3rd book now and waiting for January to really kickstart a serious study schedule.

Have you started reading anything yet?
