Minewas a lease as well. My thought is for that monthly payment I need to love the car so if it took a couple grand to sort out the audio whatever. The OEM system is unlistenable. By that I mean you can almost barely get it there and have some material sound okay, which is more frustrating than if it just flat out sucked.
Bottom line, Mercedes has a level of contempt for their customers that becomes glaringly apparent if you break ranks and buy a BMW or Audi. Those guys still charge through the nose for their products, but the products rarely disappoint, especially on basic stuff like premium audio.
Thanks Mike. That makes much more sense. Only other question I have is for mid/tweeter pairs it shows they have a single pair that then splits off into 4 wires. For some of the 4 wire sets the the pairs have the same colors listed for the tweeter and the mid. How do I know which is which? Sorry if this would be evident when looking at the harness but I want to wrap my head around everything before performing surgery on the car ?
Doubtful. Prima files barely load on the Prima (has to be identical versions of firmware and software). But Bit One should be compatible with Bit Tune, which is a stand alone automated tuning system. Any Audison dealer should have one.
I would like to upgrade my jaguar xe 2018 speakers to something direct fit or atleast plug and play kind of thing like focal has for bmw. Without adding too many stuff but like to keep it . I want fidelity and clarity and decent bass. Is it possible can you guide me through.
Hi Mike, great job! I have a GLC 2020 with burmester and I want to improve the bass. I have thought of putting an Audison APBX 10 AS Subwoofer and putting it under the trunk, do you think it is a good option?
I followed Mikes guide but my upgrade itch kept going. This is the equipment I used. In addition I had to use a JL volume control which goes into the VX that feeds the sub amp. I still mainly use the stock headunits volume, mainly need the JL for the sub and sometimes main volume.
-fix 82
-JL vx600 powering fronts
-JL vx400 powering rears
-JL RD1000 powering subs
Mike-I was able to get a file into the the new Audison DSP. the system sounds great-but now the fake engine noise coming out of the stereo is killing me. Do you have any ideas on disabling it? thanks a ton, steve
Yeah, the only solution that was available at the time was to install a JL Fix 82 DSP between the factory amp and the Prima. It was used only to output a flat signal but it was able to strip out the Vehicle Noise Compensation (VNC). There may be simpler (less expensive) solutions available now.
Yes the Android HU is connected to the factory amp and will follow your updated guide. One more thing, have you found an alternative dsp/amp that would handle the role of the JL Fix82/86 and do away with it altogether? Many thanks.
Burmester created a classroom environment in which students felt scared, angry, on edge and uncomfortable, students say. When they walked into the classroom, they immediately knew whether or not Burmester was in a good mood, and good days were few and far between.
Grant Magazine spoke with six Medical Interventions students, on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation, and three others who consented to being named. All of them say that Burmester behaved inappropriately and disrespectfully towards students for the duration of the year, and that he targeted specific people in the class.
Burmester is the only Medical Interventions teacher, which means for high schoolers working to complete the Health Sciences Pathway, which has college credit attached, there is a large possibility that they have to endure his treatment not once, but twice during their Grant careers. The pathway requires students to take three classes: Principles of Biomedical Sciences; Anatomy and Physiology; and Medical Interventions.
Another student and their parents emailed administrators about Burmester after having him for Biomedical Sciences during the 2020-2021 school year, which was entirely virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both students say nothing came of their complaints, and that to their knowledge, Grant administrators never followed up with them or Burmester. However, had any disciplinary action been taken, the students would not have been notified, as that information is confidential.
Multiple students that Grant Magazine spoke with said they were worried that if Burmester found out they had been interviewed or made reports to administrators, he would retaliate by lowering their grade in the class.
The contract between the Portland Association of Teachers and Portland Public Schools states that teachers can be placed on paid administrative leave or alternative assignment for the duration of an investigation, but only in specific cases.
Grant Magazine is in its 11th year of operation, serving as the journalistic publication for Grant High School and the Grant community. The magazine replaced the Grantonian newspaper in 2011-12 as the main news source at the school. Grant Magazine has two outlets to inform the community: a 36-page, full-color print edition that gets distributed six times during the school year; and this website, where we feature our stories, photographs and multimedia packages.
In Jan 2017, I compared it to the Symphonic Line Kraft at Tonart Studio, near Salzburg. Caesar from WBF biamps his MBL 101 with the 400w mono versions, while another runs his Apogee Scintilla with it. The one I heard was the current 300w version, all class A. The amp can double down to 1ohm
The Kraft also had better midbass for baritones as for easily audible on Winterreise. As for the Burmester, I do find it dynamic, but less tone for classical, a bit edgy. Burmester also sounds a bit too precise, while the SL has the more natural holistic continuity between images. The Burm is much thinner in the midbass. The piano on the Kraft is more flowing as opposed to toppy for the Burmester. Also, with the Kraft, the music flows into the room.
The other aspect that I am unable to comment on is the behind the speakers soundstage and layering. Possibly because the speakers are in a normal living room kind of environment, with bay windows at the back, we did not get much back of speakers layering, something that I know Magicos can do.

Anyone has upgraded their stock glc with burmester sound system? My PI quoted a top up of close to 5k before gst. Is it really worth spending or does it make so much different comparing to stock unit.
Yes in fact. I was there yesterday and installed two burnmester tweeter for couple of hundreds. Immediately the high was crisp and clear. Why the whole upgrade will cost close to sg$6k here while in USA this will be us$800 dealer option?
The Mercedes S-Class in the strech version is a VIP vehicle far from the ordinary: With Burmester sound and a bass massage in the seats, you are will ask your driver to take to take the long way home.
The S-Class is a typical executive or diplomat car where the main character is reclining in the comformat of the back seat, at full speed between contract signings and official assignments. Therefore, many of the cars are specified in a more representative, longer version with a larger wheelbase.
The test model we have borrowed this time is of the type S400d 4-Matic with four-wheel drive and diesel engine of 330 hp and strong 700 Nm of torque. But the S-Class is also available in plug-in hybrid with up to 100 km electric range.
An ordinary Mercedes S-Class is already almost 5.2 meters long: with the limo version, it increases to a full 5.4 meters. Our test model is wisely equipped with steering on all four wheels: The rear wheels can be turned up to 10 degrees each way, and reduces the turning radius by up to 2 meters.
We experienced that the 4-wheel steering gave the elongated car a surprisingly agile feeling at both low and higher speeds: During test driving I managed to get lost in a narrow busy cul-de-sac that would normally give the driver a relatively high heart rate with a car of this size and price range. But the electronic aids (360 degree camera and sensors) as well as the four-wheel steering made us get out of trouble without stress.
Speech comprehension and response are good enough that this is actually something you can use and benefit from in everyday life. Whether it is navigation, dialing contacts or specific comfort and driving settings, it is possible to ask the Mercedes assistant for help. Although the center console is equipped with buttons, they become almost superfluous.
By downloading the Mercedes Me app for iOS or Android, you can create your own user profile for the car. Then the car recognizes you when you get in, and switches to your pre-stored, individually adjusted settings. And as you know, there are many of them in an S-class. Of course, the app can also be used to turn on the heat, enter destinations and the like.
In a car like the Mercedes S-Class, great emphasis is placed on ensuring the comfort of the passengers, and this only becomes even more apparent in the long version. Here you can stretch your legs, or take control of (almost) the whole car if you want!
In addition to a larger quantity of speaker units, the 4D system also generally has higher quality on each individual twwter, midrange and woofer element, as well as two separate amplifiers with a juicy power supply. One amplifier drives the total of eight bass actuators in the driver and passenger seats.
