i don't use the repl much, except to make examples of bugs.  but when i do, i cant seem to add (insert) new, blank lines to previously defined blocks.  and i've seen a couple of julia talks where the person giving the talk has also expected this to work, but it hasn't (shift + enter?).

so i thought maybe it was a known issue, but i can't find the issue.

and since i just saw an issue related to repl for multiline comments i thought it worth mentioning.

thanks,
andrew

Ctrl-Enter does not work on my Mac.

not working for me on Version 0.3.0-prerelease+1998 (2014-03-13 01:20 UTC), Commit 9e0e3bd* (0 days old master) x86_64-suse-linux  (ie pulled within the kast hour)

in particular, if i up-arrow to a function defn (three lines) then down arrow to get to the end of the second line, then hit ctrl-return, the entire function is compiled (and i get "foo (generic...)) and a new prompt.

On Mac, it is Meta-Enter (which is opt-enter if you've configured your terminal appropriately)

ah, ok.  so that's alt-enter in linux land, which works.  thanks.

just to be explicit here, in the Mac terminal you go to preferences -> settings -> keyboard and click "use option as meta key"

If you didn't configure your mac properly, esc-enter does the job.
