Hi JuliaDSP,

My name is Ben Ward, I'm an evolutionary biologist by education - turned bioinfomatician and coder, and member of BioJulia. Recently I've been asked to take part in a project where the aim is to make use of Wavelet Transforms to process biological data.

We want to be able to use Wavelet Transforms to reduce noise in statistics calculated across genome sequences, and find regions of the genome for which those statistics calculated are abnormally low or high.

Wavelet transforms are a new topic area to me so forgive me for the naive question as a lot of terms and jargon are not natural to me yet, but is Wavelets.jl is a suitable package for doing this sort of work? It seems to me from reading the features (denoising and thresholding specifically), that it is what I need.

Many Thanks,

Ben W.
