Starting the migration from juliabox.org to juliabox.com

Hello all,

We are starting the final step of the migration to juliabox.com. What changes for you? Basically, there is a terms and conditions to accept and you will have the option to migrate your data from juliabox.org to juliabox.com. Please do try it out and post issues that you may stumble across to the mailing list.

Do not continue using juliabox.org after you migrate, or your files will be out of sync. We hope to turn off juliabox.org by the end of the month and redirect it to juliabox.com.

the migration was painless and successful.

clicking the "wrench" in the upper right brings
up an Account summary page with Profile,
Session and Version info ...

the bottom of this page hosts a button labeled

   "Migrate from juliabox.org"


pushing the button brought along all of my
files in fine working order ...

after the migration, the migrated files are
visible after a logout / login cycle.

Indeed, thank you! I had thought my migration wasn’t working, but upon logging out and back in it seems to have gone perfectly.

Dear Viral,

I could've sworn, only a few weeks ago JuliaBox.org was still operational and I just completely missed the migration. I just logged into JuliaBox.com, but couldn't find my files or the migration button under the "wrench". Is the data forever lost?

If you login with the same exact email and authentication method, you should see the migration option in the “wrench”. Otherwise, email juli...@juliacomputing.com to see if it can be recovered from the juliabox.org backup.

The confusion could also be because JuliaBox has now started to support multiple authentication mechanisms.
If you are using GitHub or LinkedIn to sign in to the new JuliaBox, please check if you have the same Google email Id registered with them as well.
Otherwise you will effectively be using a new account which can't see your previous data.

It turns out that JuliaBox's migration tool had been disabled because a bug had to be fixed. It should be back by tomorrow.
