Feedback For Vents Cleaning

Hey! FYI me and some neighbors got the duct cleaning service done by Edward & the service was great he did such a great job. He has more houses to do in our area that's why he's coming again in our neighborhood. We have been getting occasional off-topic spam like this.  Is a group admin removing (and perhaps blocking) the emails that are presenting this?

I'd mark the message as "spam" in the email but there seems like good chance that it would block the legit group posts that I do want to receive.

Yes, we have seen a series of new members joining the forum, only to send this kind of spam some time later. When they request to join, they “write” (genAI) a nice enough message on how they want to share with fellow JV enthusiasts, and they’re clever enough to wait for a few days or even weeks before sending anything.

Ariel and I try to weed out the fakes. In fact, I sent a rather impersonal and abrupt question to Ana when she wanted to join recently, she turned out to be genuine though :) 

Whenever we feel the intro message is too fake, we decline the would-be member straight away. At the first spam message from a new member, we immediately ban them from the forum.

Yet another very annoying way of spamming, that takes some time and effort to handle. We have discussed how we can prevent this from happening, but haven’t found an ideal solution.

It's not just this group, I've seen these very same messages on some of my other science fiction listservs. Not sure why they target science fiction aficionados..

They target anything targetable, with more or less success. And lately, driven by IA, you even can chat/message with them like a person.

I’m admin of some non-literature related Telegram groups and periodically have to ban critptobros, salesmen of farts and other non-mithologic weirdos.
