one of many little things that have held my interest for years

is some of the unusual ideas of Michel and maybe Jules  is a unique take on frequency and atomic vibrations - this type of quantum approach was evolving by 1900 - but it was also a theory of Ruđer Bošković, who researchers are now seeing an earlier view of quantum theory based vibrations ( see Worlds and Unknown for one discussion)

questions 

I know I've seen references by Verne to 18th century Ruđer Bošković (  possibly spelled differently), but I can't remember which novels????

i should note that   Faraday admitted he developed his electric field concepts inspired by Bošković and Verne studied Faraday's work closely
