Hi,
is somebody able to tell me the (exact) dates from when to when Frank Leslie's Chimney Corner published Michel Strogoff in 1876? According to Andrew Nash it started 29. April 1876, but when was the last print? And what date the two part - books have been published? Did they appear together or was Part I published earlier and if yes, when? And then, what date the second Part was published as book?
Anybody have any further information concerning Frank Leslies Verne-Publications? Did he had (like the german-austrian publisher A. Hartleben) a contract with P.J. Hetzel concerning the US-english translations of Vernes novels or did he simply did it without any contract / license? Anything known how he managed to get the text within the shortest time to translate them? The French Hetzel - original complete text was published about 6. November 1876, Leslie published also still in 1876, so how did he managed to get the full original text and translation and printing still in 1876?
Thanks for your help
Bernhard
