Thank you for your inquiry about the tp-link adapter. As Tp-link adapters are mainly designed for standard computer systems like Windows,Linux or Mac OS and does not have an official driver particularly designed for ESXI OS , the drivers may not work on EXSI system.
You may check if the official driver for TG-3468 could work on the system, if this does not work, you may check some open source forums like Github or the forums for ESXI and see if there are any driver for Realtek RTL8168E the chip used by TG-3468 V2.
I am trying to install vmware esxi on my old PC but after a while of installing it tells me that no network adapters were detected so i taught to myself that mybe the internal adapter isnt supported so I bought the TP-Link TG-3468 network card which I heard is supported by esxi (here TP-Link TG-3468 NIC compatibility to VMware ESXi 5.1 )but im still getting the same error im using ESXi 6.0
Yeah, it's only one port. But it works right up through ESXi 5.1, out of the box. With 5.5, since it's based on a Realtek chipset, you'll need to manually add the right driver, which I detailed here, Install ESXi 5.5 with Realtek 8111/8168 NIC. While Realtek chipsets don't appear on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide, it's affordable, and works fine with ESXi.

After 6 successful years testing then shipping well over 1,000 Xeon D Bundles, Wiredzone had to stop selling them in mid-2021 due to cost, supply, and logistics challenges. So far, Xeon D-1700/2700 (Ice Lake D) was a minor refresh for 2023, with Xeon D-1800/2800 (Granite Rapids D) refresh looking a little better for 2024. More cores, but still just PCIe Gen4 and DDR4. Looking ahead, I'm glad it's Pat Gelsinger at Intel's helm. I'm also grateful to have had the honor of working at VMware when Pat was the CIO there.
