i am not sure but i think there is no gui client for cyberoam , you
have tro either use it from website [internal link to juit network] or
use command line client called crclient http://kb.cyberoam.com/default.asp?id=372&Lang=1&SID=

i was working on making a gui client for it , ages ago ; but enevr got
to finish it .. you more than welcome to take it up :)

Yeah, there is no GUI client. You can use crclient in an autostart script or something.
Even I had started making one in GTK+ for it, which again never got completed. :p
You can choose between Shanky Sir's Qt code or my GTK+ one if you want. :)

Oh well I had also tried my hands on writing a GUI for cyberoam in GTK in college. Don't have the code. :(

As I remember, and from my discussions with Shashank at that time, password input was the main issue. Since 'crclient' is a binary, we really don't have access to the API of the cyberoam server.

One can use 'crclient' as a binary backend and put the username/password there. username generally goes as part of the command line args so that is not an issue but password uses readline library call. There is enough documentation on readline available (do man readline for starters). I am not sure but you might have to strace() crclient and see what exactly its doing. One could manipulate the char* buffer for the password but OS won't allow you to do that (cracking would have been so easy otherwise). :) Hmm perhaps something can be done using 'tput', it can be used to put stuff on stdout. Do check it out and read up on virtual terminal invocations.

And yeah good to see some activity on this group. :) Plus, good to see there's someone at JUIT who is interested in all this.

i also encountered password as the problem

yeah probably if we had time, we could disassemble it with objdump and figure out the http call its making (i am guessing it http) and then do it ourselves but that going to take time.

@sarthak : if you are intersted in helping faceless, shoot an email at communit...@helpingfaceless.com

also if you want to bring back this group, I am sure we all would love to pitch in. :)
