You can check your cruise coverage here. We recommend that you turn off roaming while the ship is docked in a US port. Otherwise, your phone may pick up the ship's network, and you'll be charged cruise ship roaming charges for any usage. Once you're out to sea, you can turn roaming back on and pay for the data, text, and voice you use.

International roaming is a service allowing you to continue using your mobile phone or other mobile device to browse the internet, as well as send and receive: emails, voice calls, and text messages while visiting another country.

The price you pay for Wi-Fi calls to international numbers when you're outside the US, depends on your international roaming option. The good news is, with most of our international roaming add-ons, you'll pay less for these calls than you did before. All Wi-Fi calls to US numbers are free of charge.

You can limit your data usage when abroad by turning off data roaming. You'll then not be able to access the internet using the mobile network when abroad. You can still use Wi-Fi even though data roaming is turned off.

I've been trying to debug and even on manual network selection most of the networks appear as "forbidden". Same networks used to latch on on earlier trips. My native Vodafone provider confirms that roaming is indeed active on my plan.

Only the Garmin cannot handle any further with the data field on the map. Only two data fields is useless. I waited for the Garmin to have at least 6 fields and a profile on the map screen. I did not live to see it and bought a roam, I am satisfied.

(English pronunciations of roam from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary & Thesaurus and from the Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary, both sources Cambridge University Press)

The airplane mode" setting on your phone shuts down all forms of communication, including calls and texts, and will help avoid roaming usage/charges. You will need to connect to a Wi-Fi network to browse the web, check your email, or use instant messaging apps.

*International long distance service is only available to select destinations. For a list of current destinations and rates, which are subject to change at any time, please visit pagepluscellular.com. Calls are billed in one-minute increments and must originate from the US. International roaming not allowed. Balance expires at the end of your service cycle.

I've read about the data roaming while you're travelling abroad we are only staying in the EU and I have read about the passport plus which is 2 per 24 hours. I'm just wondering does it happen automatically or do I have to change settings on my phone or sign up for it. I just could not find these details.

It starts working as soon as you turn data and roaming on when abroad and that you go online, make a phone call or send a text. The cost depends on where you are going so to make sure it is 2 you can check this out yourself here:

Hi @Millie+two+shoes it kicks in automatically when you send a text, make a call or use a small amount of data. All you need to do is make sure roaming and mobile data are on in your phone settings. It will cost 2 for 24 hours use of your home allowance and piggybank. Be aware it won't cover calls to local numbers, they are charged extra.
