With three other games under its belt, the Danganronpa series really had to get creative with its V3 characters. With contenders like the devious Nagito and fan favorites like Chiaki, fans couldn't wait to see what the studio game up with next. Luckily, the third core entry in the series didn't disappoint, and we got a cast of colorful and unique characters unlike any we had seen before.
When you first start playing the game, you will be introduced to another cast of ultimates full of potential. If you're looking to catch up with the series, then check out the guide below of every character in Danganronpa V3.
Updated on February 15, 2021 by Jessica Thomas: The Danganronpa series has seen its fair share of success in recent years. Through its anime and the exposure on social media app Tik Tok, the series has gained the attention of anime and gaming fans around the world. Danganronpa V3 was the last game released in the series and moved away from the classic formula. The game set out to show some of the most unique ultimate students ever made and had a final plot reveal that many still believe to be the best in the series. With so many fleshed-out characters, it can be easy to mix up a few, especially with all the mystery-solving that goes into playing the games.
Korekiyo is the ultimate anthropologist and arguably the most demented member of the cast. Korekiyo mentions that humans are creatures of infinite beauty and seems off to his other classmates. During the killing game, he manages to murder both Angie and Tenko to give his sister more friends.
Angie is the ultimate artist and part of a cult. Most of her thoughts revolve around worshipping Atua and trying to introduce others to his glory. This even leads her to make an in-game cult that enforces tough rules on the other students.
Kirumi is the ultimate maid and the supposed prime minister of Japan. At the start of the game, she is happy to stay in the dorms cleaning up after her classmates. During the second chapter, though, she learns that she is a de facto prime minister and becomes determined to escape.
Tsumugi is the ultimate cosplayer and the mastermind behind the killing game. For much of her screen time, she pulls off a perfect facade of being shocked at each murder and never got heavily involved with any of her classmates.
Due to her meek appearance, she managed to go undetected as the potential mastermind until the very last trial. It is heavily implied that Tsumugi has also participated in other killing games and survived.
Keebo or K1-B0 is the ultimate robot and one of the final survivors of the game. It is revealed throughout the story that he has a hard time with human emotions and, even at one point, wishes for the ability to cry.
Kaede is the ultimate pianist and the first protagonist of V3. Her ultimate goal is to stop the killing game, and she ends up being framed for murder early on. Despite her grim fate, Kaede becomes close with Shuichi and even encourages him to help solve the trial that ends in her execution.
Maki starts off by telling her classmates that she is the ultimate child caregiver. Later it is learned that she is actually the ultimate assassin explaining her relatively cold nature. She prefers to spend her time alone in her lab for the earlier parts of the game as she hates people.
Shuichi is the main protagonist of the game and the ultimate detective. After Kaede's execution, he dedicates himself to stopping the killing game. Shuichi quickly allies with Maki and Kaito who helps him to survive.
Himiko is the ultimate magician who believes she has special powers. She is also one of the characters that has the hardest time dealing with the murders. Because of this, she ends up becoming close with Angie, who pulls her into her cult.
Miu is the ultimate inventor and one of the most disliked members of the class. She does grow close with both Keebo and Gonta, who aren't put off by her rude personality. Miu devotes her time coming up with new inventions and doing upgrades on Keebo, who she has a crush on.
Monokuma returns as one of the main antagonists of the killing game. He is more absent than usual and sends the Monocubs to deliver messages to the cast. Monokuma is still active during class trials and helps carry out the executions.

2. Shuichi, Kaede and Rantaro introduce themselves AS Shuichi, Kaede and Rantaro BEFORE getting their first memory, even though Tsumugi claims she has created their characters and even blurs out their names in the audition tapes.
8. Keebo also might not be completely created by Team Danganronpa. If that would be the case, there is no reason for him to be in the prologue, BEFORE they get the false memories, in a different outfit, without the metal caps on his ears and also without the antenna. (Because there is no way he could hide THAT long antenna underneath a hat like that.)
So what if the fact that different characters have ahoges has something to do with this trial mechanic?
For example the ahoge characters are the leaders of the other team you are debating against so it will be like you will be fighting against a protagonist-like character and that is represented by then having their ahoges and also maybe there will be times where one of then is on your team and you control them for a bit to help Kaede hence they have their own ahoges because they are playable for a moment.

A collection of information and oneshots for the prologue versions of the DRV3 characters. Primarily reader insert, but other types of stories are likely to pop up. Entirely headcanon based, and contains many triggering and dark themes. The work of someone addicted to fictional misery; proceed with caution.
Request based, unless I get a good idea, so ask for whatever you want! I always love writing for people's ideas! As mentioned before, this is all headcanon, so I hope y'all enjoy my interpretation of a pretty vague idea.
Hello and welcome to my story! This chapter is just information on the general headcanons for the characters and what you'll be getting yourself into, but be warned; a fair amount of nasty stuff is mentioned.
First, some background: I've seen a lot of headcanons for the normie versions of the cast, and none of them seemed miserable enough for my taste. So! I made my own! I'll be doing whatever horrible things I feel like to the characters, and just from these headcanons, I can warn ya'll it'll be painful. Honestly, I feed off of fictional misery, so look forward to lots of angst!
And that's it! :D This story will primarily feature requested content, so send something in if you wanna see updates! Otherwise, you'll have to wait for me to get an idea. . . Anyway, headcanons below, and leave a comment if there's something you want to see!
An average teenager, almost to a fault. Often forgotten by those around him, with his unusual appearance the only thing that stands out. Shy, with a reserved personality and a lot of social anxiety. Often bullied for his height and passive nature. He dreams of being someone special and tough but does very little to help himself. His family life is distant, and between that and an utter lack of friends, he struggles a lot with depression. Signed up for the killing game in an attempt to become popular and noticed.
