Just as advertised!!!

This machine is remarkable and, as advertised, it is quiet, easy to clean and very efficient. The pulp does come out dry. It is perfect for juicing numerous times a day. Where with larger units that are too hard to clean, most people don't juice as often as they'd like due to the heavy clean-up but this really is a 5 minute clean-up. It is also very attractive, so no need to move it off the countertop.

Great deal on the best juicer I've ever used. EDIT #1

This thing feels like a Kitchen Aid product - solid! Everything about this machine looks and feels like quality. Smooth and quiet operation, and no problems pertaining to the refurb status of this juicer. Everything looked and felt new out of the box. This really is a slow turning juicer, and it pulverizes everything I throw at it effortlessly - carrots, apples, leafy greens, stringy greens, and even beets. Definitely one of those purchases that gives you the warm and fuzzies that you made the right choice.
EDIT #1: Now a few months into owning this juicer I've noticed that the ON/OFF toggle switch sometimes gets stuck in 'reverse'. Each time this has happened I simply rocked the switch back and forth a few times and it corrected itself. Just thought this was worth mentioning.

Omega VRT vs Omega 8006

A Natural Foods Chef Comparing the Omega VRT to the Omega 8006.
For me there is no comparison. The Omega 8006 is superior, and I will be selling the VRT.
The whole experience with the 8006 is better.
OVERALL: Omega 8006 is so easy to put together, take apart, and clean, so there is less stress involved during the experience.
RECIPES: The fiber comes out of the 8006 almost immediately, so I am better able to gauge how much juice I will make. With the VRT, the fiber comes out much later, and I almost always make too much juice and it is more difficult determining recipe percentages.
GREENS JUICING: Also on the fiber bit, I run my greens through twice. But do so with a twist. I put my greens through first. The fiber comes out dark green. I wet the fiber with some water and put it through again. The second time the fiber comes out, it comes out light green and green juice comes out, so I know that I've got all the good stuff into the
juice.
That technique is much easier with the 8006 because the fiber comes out immediately, so I know home much green veg to use. With the VRT, the green veg takes much longer to come out. The 8006 will save money in the long run with how efficient it is with greens.
CLEANING: Cleaning the VRT is stressful. There is much more screen to clean, so it takes longer and requires more focus to make sure all the specks of food are out of the screen. The 8006 cleans in less than a minute with very little stress. It is so easy to clean that I can make several different juices in one sitting, and don't mind the assembly or clean up at all. The VRT on the other hand is a bit more of a commitment.
ASSEMBLY: There is a little rubber flap on the VRT and I constantly forget to put the little rubber flap in the bottom of the VRT... at which point, I have to stop juicing, take the machine apart, clean out the flap area, put the flap where it should be, reassemble the
juicer, and finish juicing. This is most aggravating.
OVERALL TIME: Some websites claim that the 8006 is easier to clean, but the VRT saves more time overall. I haven't found that to be true, especially if you are only making 1 or 2 servings.
COUNTER SPACE: Although the VRT takes up less room on the counter, it takes up more room when drying all the parts. Since I use my juicer so much, the parts are drying all day, so the VRT takes up more room on the counter.
AMENITIES: The option of making custom nut butters with the 8006 is awesome. So far I've made a pumpkin seed almond butter. I've also made a nut butter out of Trader Joes Thai Lime Leaf Nut mixture (Awesome!). I look forward to making my own kim chi and sauerkraut, which will only take minutes to process before putting the veg in mason jars to ferment.
JUICE QUALITY: The fruit juices with the 8006 come out just as creamy as the VRT. The VRT juice comes out fibrous and pulpy, whereas
the 8006 never does.
I was hoping that the VRT and the 8006 would fill different niches in my kitchen, but there simply isn't enough reason for me to keep the VRT. It is an invention that is gaining press and excitement because it is new, but it simply is not an improvement on the 8006.
If nothing else, the 8006 is SUPERIOR for greens.
