bottarga di Marzamemi (delicious!) here:
http://groups.google.com/group/juicedefender/web/JuiceDefender183.apk

- fixed a number of bugs (especially about screen on/unlock/off
detection)
- tweaked the Apps trigger as per suggestions
- UI tweaks (CPU help text, contributors list (@Nitin: :-
pppppplplpl :D ))
- much better management of service/UI interaction, now fully
automatic
- final (sure...) adjustments to Location

Let me just mention that last Saturday, for the 'Festa del Redentore',
I went to see the end of the July 4th-style fireworks show (just
because I needed to test Location once again!); the *thousands* of
boats leaving the Canale della Giudecca (which was closed on the
occasion due to a floating footbridge connecting la Giudecca to the
main Venice islands) immediately afterwards were quite a breathtaking
sight. It seemed one of those mass-exodus-because-armageddon-is-
imminent movie scenes, only so much more beautiful. (Also, many
smaller canals were subsequently jammed because of the excessive boat
traffic, with ensuing colorful and amusing exchanges between the
locals).

I'll reply to your comments (awesomeness as usual! You guys rock!) in
their threads.

Forgot to add:
- a couple of new 'low battery has priority' buttons :)

Mark,

How is disabling 3G handled in these post v1.7.9 builds as it is in 1.7.9?  That's the first version I tried that seems to successfully disable it on my Verizon MotoDroid running stock 2.1.  I know it shouldn't work (should it?) because I'm not GSM...but I have no "sync" option, just "data" and that "3G" icon is off every time I turn my screen on...and then <30 seconds later I can actually do data-related stuff.  So, although you shouldn't be able to manage APN on my Droid, it seems like you are.  I'm know I'm just confused, but help me understand what I'm missing.

I'm not sure if my confusion over the Apps trigger and/or Surfinette's
response were some of the "suggestions" to which you refer, but I just
downloaded v1.8.3 and tested Pandora with my screen off and it's now
working fine. Thanks!

Hey mark, also anotherthing i noticed is, if i choose under screen to have data enabled only after unlocking, if i use a replacement lockscreen like widgetlocker, the apn is reenabled as soon as i turn on the screen whether or not i unlocked it :(

Testing on CM 6 RC1.
I see that Juicedefender not starting on boot is fixed already but it
seems that the widget is not working. Widget showing a disabled icon
with NA even though juicedefender is enabled and showing in the
notification.

I think I may have figure out why the service is not starting on boot
on CM 6 on my nexus one.
It may be because of the CPU button.
1. I installed this build and restarted my phone. JD shows up in
notification on boot.
2. While going through the setting, I notice that the CPU button is
missing. I redid the setup.
3. Rebooted my phone. Notice JD does not start up anymore.

I have also notice that the widget have changed from NA to 1.76x but
the icon still show a disabled icon.

Yes I can confirm the widget still displays JD disabled. At first it was N/A but fixed itself.

I have also noticed that the timeout feature is still keeping pattern enabled. I have it set at 30 secs and ten minutes. The pattern is still enabled every time I screen on even after only 30 seconds.

Everything else seems to be working properly again. Great job on the apps trigger Mark its working great! I got Pandora back! Thanks!

1.83 does not work at all for me on Htc desire with Froyo Modaco MCR
R5 !!!
It does not respond to my setting, for instance I would turn the
screen button OFF and yet data are enabled with green-dotted icon...

Tried re-run setup, restart, etc...

I'm back on 1.82 sorry...

I sent you the log of my buggy 1.83, but not from my gmail address...
I'm now back to close-to-perfect 1.82

1.8.3 is strange to me as well:
wifi is not turned off when i am out of reach,
widget shows service is disabled, and cannot click on enable any more.

i send you a debug message as well.

Yeah, the widget has a stupid bug - fixed in 1.8.4.

@Pawlye: it all started in v1.7.2, see here:
http://groups.google.com/group/juicedefender/browse_thread/thread/43ab3b44e765c196

@Matt: great! Disregard my comment on the 1.8.2 thread then :)

@Adam: hmmm, I'm not sure a workaround is possible in that case -
actually it seems quite unlikely. Then again, one of the main selling
points for these replacement lockscreens is showing internet-enabled
information... so that's not so bad after all? :)

@decrypt: it seems there is a boot problem after all. Most of the
times it works correctly on my N1, but I just experienced a saddening
lack of JD upon reboot... Will work on it. Thanks for the CPU hint!

@Smokem_I: most probably a stupid regression; will check, thanks!

@Surfinette: I'm guessing you repeatedly changed some settings, then
closed the UI, only to reopen it soon later and find all of your
previous changes gone as if they didn't persist (your log shows that
JD does *not* see 'Screen' as enabled). If you can confirm that this
is indeed the case, could you try a full uninstall?

Thanks, Mark.  I posted the successful data control results there as well as a huge THANK YOU. :)
