I noticed that some of you guys have compiled the new "beta invitation
request" form (at
latedroid.com/beta), which is odd, as days ago I had
already sent an invitation to *all* of you.
Perhaps the invitation emails were never actually sent (bad
UserVoice!), or they got caught in today's blissfully stringent spam
filters. Perhaps some of you simply changed email address - thus the
"manual" request - then I'm just wasting your time :D
I'm writing this just to be safe - if you *did* get the invitation
email, sorry for the unbearable (at this point) spam! :/
At any rate, the whole group here already should already have access
to the beta forum - just sign in at
feedback.latedroid.com ;)
For completeness, I'm pasting the original invitation message below. I
think that the link isn't really necessary; if you don't see
"JuiceDefender beta" on the right pane after signing in, let me know
here (and check your spam folder for the original invitation-cum-
link).
-----
I have opened a feedback/support forum with UserVoice, which *seems*
to be flexible enough to use it for feature requests, bug reports and
general support. I sure hope that turns out to be the case.
Anyway, it should certainly make sense to move the beta group over
there; things can be better organized in a 'bug-centric' way and you
can decide to subscribe to individual bugs (or ideas); it should help
cut the spam you get :)
I'll keep the Google Group going for a while, though, until we're all
confident that the new platform will work.
I have already set up a private "JuiceDefender beta" forum, and I'm
spamming you (again!) with the invitation link.
HOWEVER, before you rush to click on it: I've done a bit of testing,
and it seems that there's a way to avoid creating a password for
UserVoice (hate passwords!)
You will need to:
- go to
http://feedback.latedroid.com
- click on 'Sign in'
- click on the Google icon to sign in with your Google (Gmail) account
via OpenID/OAuth
- complete the sign in process
- and ONLY THEN click on the invitation link in the email
This way (if I'm not mistaken) your Gmail address (obviously it needs
to be the same address as the one you signed in with in the third step
above) will be associated with your login, and you'll be able to
securely access the beta forum - as well as the public one - via
Google authentication without the need for yet another password.
Victory!
Well! Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you soon on the new
forum ;)
