1.8.8 beta - Desire Froyo problem

This seems to happen on all of the four Desire Froyo (with sense)
Rom's that I have tried.
The Non sense froyo ROM's work just fine, so it must be HTC's
framework/kernel causing the issue.
The problem is that,JD does not close the data connection at all, it
does turn WiFi off, but not HSPDA/3G/GPRS.
I am using a UK Desire with HBoot .75 and this happens on both the O2
and Orange networks.
