Who needs "defect numbers" and "bug trackers"? :D

Currently I am using Juicedefender on the Cymogenmod Froyo ROM for the
EVO. I was initially going to write in saying that it wasn't working
but this update fixed the problem I was having. Yay. :)

@qwerty017: it's still worth mentioning what the problem was ;) (ok,
I'm a bad example as far as excessive laconicism goes, as shown above)

Mark, YTMND!

Fellow testers,
I have a question about the apps trigger : what do the icons next to the app names in the apps list represent?

Also, JD's interface is becoming increasingly complex and cluttered with every new feature you add. Might I suggest a complete UI overhaul for  version 2.0? I might have some good ideas and I'm sure the testers here have some great ideas too. You could perhaps start a new post for discussing ideas for a new UI!

Im also putting in a vote for a quick in-app tutorial explaining JD's awesome features on first run. This would help newbies make sense of all the buttons.(I know each button has a help tip but I think a step by step tutorial is better for an app as  complex as JD)

@Nitin: I completely entirely absolutely wholeheartedly agree on
everything you said!
I'll just need some UI mockups (feel free to start the new thread ;) )
and 60-hours-long days for at least a couple of months. :)
Seriously though, the tutorial is a neat idea as well, but I'm really
bad at that kind of stuff. So guys let's start working on the
"storyboard"! (this would be a rather longish-term thing, as we're not
yet quite feature-stable yet - but almost there!)

@lowne
The problem was that JD wouldn't turn off 3g when putting the phone in
standby unless I turned it on 3 times and let the lock screen turn it
back off. After the 3rd time JD would turn off 3g. With 1.8.7 it now
does it automatically as it should.

@Mark,
I've tested for the RDBDE bug with several different ROMs:

It appears that I get the bug only with roms Android 2.2 (Froyo) + HTC
Sense (Tested on Modaco MCR R4 and R5, on NeoPhyte ROM 1.2 and 1.3 (on
XDA) and LeeDroid 1.6 (on XDA)). These are all very popular ROMs so my
feeling is that you should not solve this bug just for me but for all
Froyo + HTC Sense users... Please note that every time I did the test
I did a full wipe of the phone before installing the rom I've tested.

Note : I did NOT get the RDBDE with Android 2.1 + HTC Sense (Rom 6
O'Clock (to be found at Modaco forum) nor with Android 2.2 without HTC
Sense (Rom Modaco MCR R21)). That is why I suspect it is a Froyo +
Sense issue...

I'll try to narrow the possibilities around this bug but I'm kind of
running out of ideas at this point

I forgot to mention that I could not install JD 1.87 on Modaco MCR R21
(Froyo without sense) because JD kept FC due to AOSP bug (when
installing) so I did the test with 1.82 and didn't get the RDBDE bug.

I also forget to mention that my phone is an HTC Desire

It seems to work fine on my HTC Desire not rooted.

I also have some problems with the AOSP-helper.
If it's installed my "2G-only" is always automatically switched off.
(It also doesn't matter if 3G in JD is enabled or disabled)
My 3G-reception is rather poor and so I need this enabled.
Only workaround so far -> uninstall AOSP-helper

I'm currently running an unmodded CM6-RC2 on a Nexus.
(I think I had this probs since the first Froyo-AOSP)

Isn't it possible to make some dialog in setup, so that the
installation of the AOSP-helper can be skipped?

Furthermore I would like to have the space for JD in the notification-
area perhaps doubled in size.
Would this be possible?
I think it would greatly improve the readability of the rather cryptic
icons which are now used.

logs with my phone when i ran the setup twice.

Mark,
I've now tested JuiceDefender v1.87 with many 2.2 Froyo ROMs with
Sense, including the recent official HTC 2.2 ROM and I alway get the
RDBDE bug :( :( :(

I hope you'll be back soon to fix it :)

Wish you well

I have the same problem in my HTC Desire with FroYo. A fix would be
really great.

Also in 1.8.8 the problem still occurs.

Back I am!
Ok, the amazing Surfinette pretty much nailed it down: the problem is
the HTC layer (you thought it's just the Sense UI? Think again! Those
guys are messing with lowlevel stuff as well, for whatever reason).

So I suggest that you guys:
1) continue the discussion over at feedback.latedroid.com (it's the
*only* bug/entry so far, since I entered it) - namely the
'RemoteException' thing might help me
2) let me know if there's some Froyo HTC rom that can be installed on
the N1 for local testing (I'll happily accept links to lmgtfy.com)
3) remind me to check whether HTC published any relevant source code
(as the problem obviously is NOT in the proprietary Sense overlay)
4) enter a bug for the "AOSP helper always disabling 2g only" thing at
the aforementioned feedback forum; there *might* be a way to fix it
(I'll have to stare long and hard and the Froyo source code), and if
not I'll add an option to remove it completely.

As you probably have guessed by now, I'm trying to move the whole
thing over at UserVoice for added flexibility - anyway stay tuned for
the "official" announcement here on the group!
