Dear Members,

This is to sadly inform you that one of our employees - the Security Guard at Luweero passed away last night in his sleep.

Currently, Nyokabi is at the farm trying to arrange modalities related to this sad situation and will require our support where we can. The first thing she's handling is to inform local authorities, friends and relatives around Luweero, then they'll determine the cause of death if necessary by taking the body for postmortem.

Our contribution as individual members or group should be geared towards, but not limited to; the cost of the postmortem when done, purchase of a coffin, transportation of the body to his ancestral home for burial and condolences.

We will keep you updated on the progress, you may contact Nyokabi for any further information.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Regards,

Bob,
PC, Juhudi - Luweero

I actually sent this mail at 815H but for some reason, it wasnt delivered, not sure how that happened.

Please be informed that the necessary procedures to prepare and send the body for burial in Arua have been finalised. The Police have offered a vehicle for transportation at UGX800k, there's a commercial contact at UGX1.0Mn just in case the Police vehicle is not cleared for travel.

I have asked Benjamin to get other signatories to draw UGX1.1Mn from the Juhudi account and remitt it to Nyokabi for expenses that will be necessary, viz

Transport - UGX800,000=
Coffin - UGX100,000=
50kgs Posho and
Condolences to family  - UGX100,000=

It is imperative that members note we have not had time to meet and discuss how this matter should be handled, the more time it takes, the more the expenses so this is just a stop-gap measure. How the expenses may be shared will be discussed in the next Chama meeting (however suggestions on mail are welcome), any members who'd like to contribute individually may deposit funds in the Chama account.

Bob

Thanks a lot Bob for the update. It's really sad but it's God's will.
As for the withdrawing of the money, I do not see any other way of going about it considering there is no time and it is imperative that the body is transported ASAP.

May he R.I.P and God grant his entire family peace and comfort beyond human understanding.

Mercy.

All,

It was an extremely long day for us-me, Carol and the rest of the staff. People should not die far away from their homes banange! Should I die please feel free to cremate my remains and throw my ashes in the Indian ocean.
Fortunately we managed to transport the body. It was finally resolved that a taxi would be the best means of transport as it would transport both the corpse and the people attending the funeral to and fro. We paid Ushs
900,000 the friends to the widow topped up Ushs 50,000. We got a coffin at Ushs 80,000. Paid Ushs 80,000 to the doctor & police, Ushs 20,000 each to Peter & LC chairman (who was accompanied by another gentleman from the village) to representa us at the burial,9,500 mobile money charges, 10,000 for drinks. Members can decide whether the salary due to the watchman will be given to the widow.
We thank Carol & Sam for contributing beans among other resources, May God bless them full measure, shaken down together and running over.
Special thanks to Bob, Roger's uncle, the LC Chairman and the rest of the villagers. I suggest we give the LC Chairman and Roger's uncle each a cock accompanied with a 'basket' without them we were going to be totally helpless.

Rgrds,

Nyokabi M

Thanks a lot Nyokabi and Carol for representing us and sorting things out to their conclusion. We can only pray that God will bless you immensely for your input.
We are also grateful to the LC as well as Roger's uncle and personally I have got no problem with  gifting them for their help.

Regards,
Mercy.

For those who had not met Edward the deceased,  he was a soft spoken hard working man in his 50s.

Cause of death was ruled to be suffocation that he suffered in an epileptic seizure. He is survived by his wife and they did not have children.

RIP Edward.
