IRLA NALLAH AND INTERFERENCE BY POLITICIANS IN THE EVICTION PROCESS OF
SLUMS )
Dear friends,
This is to inform all that residents of Juhu (JVPD Scheme and Gulmohar
Road) area have planned a march to protest against the hundreds of
shanties encroached (Sainath Nagar, Rameshwar Nagar and Jai Santoshi
Mata Nagar ) on the Irla Nallah. These encroachments have narrowed
down the width of the nallah and thus the residents have to face the
brunt of the even moderate rains as they face flooding in their areas
and in the ground floor flats of every building.
As you may be aware, in the past three politicians have stalled the
eviction process initiated by the BMC IN THIS AREA and this time too
they have prevailed upon the CM to defer the evictions till the end of
monsoon.
I request all like-minded citizens to come together in solidarity with
the residents of Juhu area in their protest against this gross
vote-bank appeasement tactics and interference by politicians in the
working of the administration. Lets speak in one voice and let our
elected representatives realize that we shall not tolerate such abuse
of power and protection of law-breakers by them.

Date and Time :-- Sunday : 22nd July 2007 : 3:30 pm.
Venue :-- Kaifi Azmi Park, off JVPD 10th Road.
