Hi Tim,
I am Jeremiah from Arusha – Tanzania, just joined Joomla! Users Group Tanzania and was very interested,
I also visited few other groups you created including your blog and quickly clutch that you are making things happening,
love that! Just thought to drop a quick suggestions and more will come in our further contact,
there’s much we can do in Tanzania and East Africa as whole,
ICT here is in its early days but growing very fast in this region,
let me know if you are interested and if we can help each other to do something here!

Regards:
Jerry

Jerry

thanks for the note...  Seems there are gong to be many JUGTZ members in Arusha..  we should look at where most members are coming from and find a way to make branch chapters yet working together as a national team for larger events, information sharing, mailing lists, etc...

I think the first order of business is to get as many people as possible on this mailing list so we can start organizing in a unified fashion, produce unified documents and set some face to face meetings..

Cheers
Tim

Yes Tim,
Its very possible to have many members in Arusha, I am still insisting you to suggest a good way of promoting the group that I will do,
I wish we could have face to face informal meeting, anyway lets keep on contact and next time welcome to Arusha, its a place you don’t have to miss.

I am not permanently in TZ, so my role is  to help get things going, build leaders and do all I can to assist while I can...   the real weight of building a good Joomla User group will be on our Tanzanian members...

my suggestion is for us to focus on one national Joomla User Group for all of Tanzania (JUGTZ) then set up city based cells/branches as is needed...  most of what we do is online anyhow so geographical boundaries are not a big concern until we need to meet face to face..

As you suggest...  the work we are doing in Cambodia  for www.jugcam.org can transfer to TZ...  documentation, rules, policies, etc...   as soon as we get an organizing team together I will share the few documents we have as that will save some time.   the organizing team along with members can change as they see fit and get moving..

I will share some documents with jugtz  to get some ideas moving..

T
