policy for applet or rmi

hello,
I am working on web base chating projectt. but i got problem that
applet not supporting any connection through socket. I tried policy file,
policy tool but how to attach any policy file in program through netbeans or
java program.
coz all solution i got are releted to policy attachment were through command
prompt. so please reply its urgent.

What I think If you are building the Web Chatting Application then you can use URL class instead of Socket Class.
For Web Application URL class is used and for LAN Application you can use Socket Classes !
