i don't really like dolby atmos. a lot of the tracks sound different (in a bad way) and a lot of dolby atmos masters are really bad. chromatica was terrible when it was first uploaded, but then they fixed it a while back.

folklore sounds amazing in dolby atmos though, the changes from stereo sound are subtle, but you can hear more harmonies and instruments and the sound is more immersive without sounding overly processed.

No. It makes them un-elevate most of the time and ruins the albums, it's a gimmick. It really rarely works well and Chromatica + Folklore / Evermore + Happier Than Ever was one of the few examples where it worked good from what I remember. Artists don't create their albums with having Dolby Atmos in their minds, it's a later addition from random mixers to make an advertisement possibility.

i agree. apple was touting it as some revolutionary feature that will change music but i don't think it will be in the foreseeable future. barely anyone has the equipment necessary for it, and most songs sound dreadful.

I'll try folklore. From what i can tell, its working with 2020 albums. Im wondering if they originally were going to host some big event or promo push that covid ruined for the new decade. Paparazzi sounds amazing as does MR, i dont like poker face it takes something away
