I want to add to this thread and post that after 9.0.375.0 came out, I have had nothing but problems. Windows Store Apps will not update "all" of them. My Second Life "Game" keeps saying it found a Degrade in Performance and locks up. My printer, my WD Cloud HDD, and other stuff are getting BLOCKED! I have hit unblock but they just block it again. I have uninstalled, used the eset uninstaller, did a clean install of Windows 10 and nothing wants to work properly unless I just uninstall eset and leave it off the computer. This needs to get fixed asap!
I have been with eset for decade and a half now and this feature is frankly annoying. Great that I can turn it off but it should be off by default. Please stop adding confusing and unwanted visual aids to my browser or anything else. I love eset, I feel my devices are safe, and that is all it needs to do. Work in the background, don't annoy us with adding random visual aids.
I'm also having the same problem, I disabled secure all browsers, that seems to have disabled the option. With that option enabled, All my browsers will crash, I use firefox all the time, tried MS edge, and same problem. Then I noticed the green border. ( don't really use any banking online) but its was a bit annoying, and had a feeling eset was to blame.
I am having these issues as well, there is no way to disable the borders, other than completely uninstalling eset. The remove green border setting will work sometimes, but comes back often. Disabling all the various protection systems does nothing. This a design flaw and glitch.
Yes I tried disabling the green window frame setting, but it simply does not work. Only once after disabling and reset, it stayed off. Then it came back next time I started my PC. I have tried disabling every feature related to browser protection, and that does not work.
Just bought a new Powerspec system at Microcenter, Bethel Rd, Columbus and sprung for the 3 year eset coverage.
When I go to activate the software, it will not allow me to select my state (Ohio) when I select my country (United States)--therefore I cannot REGISTER, and CANNOT ACTIVATE.
It also appears the "confusion" with MicroCenter is they pre-load a 90 day trial version of Eset on their PowerSpec computers: -to-activate-and-install-eset-antivirus-trial-on-your-powerspec-computer . It appears this is what you are trying to use for activation and is non-applicable in your case since you purchased a full 3 year Eset license.
I'm confused by log collecting. There are what look like to entirely separate log collection facilities, one described at -how-do-i-use-eset-log-collector, and the other in ESET Internet Security under Help and Support -> Technical Support.
It also automatically installed on Chrome for me today without my permission. To be clear, yesterday a prompt showed up asking me if I wanted to enable it or not. I did not click "enable extension" in eset and I disabled the notifications that showed up. Yet it still installed somehow today. This is unacceptable!
What I would recommend is setting the Eset firewall back to default values. This will reset Filtering mode back to Automatic which will allow all outbound traffic unless specifically blocked by an existing Eset default firewall rule. Also, only Eset default firewall rules would exist.
Next, I just made a posting here: -eset-monitoring-of-gateway-ipv4-dns-server-connection/ in regards to what appears to be Eset checking of gateway/router DNS server status. I am wondering if this activity might be in some way related to the mysterious DNS blocking issue you are having. Something along the line of this Eset status check fails for some reason resulting in Eset internally blocking outbound DNS traffic on your device.
