Hi Everyone,

I am posting this on behalf of a JUAMI alumnus, Matthew Curnan who is seeking individuals and groups who are working in catalysis:

From Matthew:
======
I want to invite you to submit a publication (original article or
review) to my Special Issue in the journal Catalysts. This Special Issue
- for which I am the head guest editor - is focused on the materials,
reactions, and related phenomena that characterize electrocatalysis.
Note that submissions to this issue do not have to specifically complete
experiments or simulations demonstrating electrocatalyst performance or
direct electrocatalytic function, though submitted articles focusing on
this are fine as well. Rather, submitted publications only have to
describe general materials or phenomena that are textually related to
electrocatalysis. Thus, a broad spectrum of content is welcomed in this
Special Issue. A link to details on, and an application for, this
Special Issue is presented below:

https://www.mdpi.com/journal/catalysts/special_issues/1KNGIEVZ5D

If you submit one invited publication in your own name (as a lead or
corresponding author) to this Special Issue, the publication costs can
be discounted (given your interest, I will check for a specific
discount). Note that discount offers are limited, thus you have to
confirm that you will be submitting to this Special Issue fairly quickly
to secure a guarantee on such discounts. If you are interested, I will
forward your information to Catalysts' staff to facilitate this process.
If you have anyone else in your department or network of research
collaborators who may be interested in this opportunity, feel free to
forward me their current information, so that I can contact them. If you
have any other questions about this invitation, feel free to ask me.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Matthew Curnan

Thank you, Prof Simon Billinge, for the information.

I am working on the heterogeneous catalyst, particularly for some kind of alkalinity clay which I am trying to investigate for the conversion of glycerol (co-product from biodiesel production) to glycerol carbonate through transesterification of glycerol with dimethyl carbonate in laboratory conditions. However, I am facing some technical challenges in achieving my objective. Therefore, I need a specialist in biodiesel, heterogeneous catalysis simulation, and glycerol valorization so as to finish my work, and I am required to submit two papers before August 2023. I will appreciate immediate assistance. At the moment I have funds for publication.
For further communication use this email: isack....@nm-aist.ac.tz
Kind regards
Isack

Dear All:

I have been coordinating information needed to answer the questions posed here. Several answers are listed below as follows; please feel free to ask me further questions, if you have any:

1. Abera, the discount given to publication fees is ultimately determined by the administrative staff of Catalysts. Namely, I have to give them an invited lead/corresponding author's information, and they have to check what the discount is in each individual case. This may take a few days to resolve. In general, you can maximize your discount by collaborating with other lead/corresponding authors who are offered larger (even full) discounts. If we talk directly via email, then I can help you further with respect to your individual circumstances, and help determine what kinds of discounts you individually may be offered. Please contact me directly via email to resolve what percentage discount off of total publication costs you can receive.

2. All: You can reach me at my email listed in the link within my original invitation, and Dr. Haile listed as well: mcu...@postech.ac.kr

3. Isack: Separate of this forum but also for this Special Issue in Catalysts, I have been discussing possible submissions with authors (mostly JUAMI alumni) who may strongly benefit from working with collaborators such as yourself. One of these collaborators has apparent expertise in biodiesel and glycerol-related reactions, while several others have apparent expertise with heterogeneous catalysis simulation. Given all parties involved in this work approve of potentially collaborating (I am still confirming this), then I can place all parties into contact with each other.

Thank you.

Best,

Matt
