QRG always box reverts to 1.838 MHz

Suddenly the program will not let me enter the correct band in the QRG box. I have deleted the software, reloaded ver 4.9.6 twice, even erased most of the original files left behind when the program is erased in Control Panel. I am running Win 7 on a Lenvoa Thinkpad, been fine until now. I suspect a recent automatic Windows upgrade has messed something up.
