Hi,
I ran into this problem today whenever I try to access the examples/showcases and some of the features on the website:

MediaWiki 1.27 internal error

Installing some PHP extensions is required.

Required components

You are missing a required extension to PHP that MediaWiki requires to run. Please install:

It worked fine yesterday. And I got the same error both on mac and windows.
Anybody aware of this error? any fix ?

Also, when you click on more information and you go to install xml or whatever, there's nothing to install.

Thanks

Sorry about that. It was a server-side problem caused by a server update but this should be resolved now.
Best wishes,

Well I am running php7.1 and after a reboot it still failed.

# apt install php7.1-xml
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
php7.1-xml is already the newest version (7.1.7.retag-1+ubuntu16.04.1+deb.sury.org+1).
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

phpinfo() however showed that Apache was runing php7.0 so I installed that and it fixed things.

Dear Paul,
I'm glad to see that this solves the problem. I just had investigated what I did to fix the problem and I installed php_xml, too.
Best wishes,
Alfred
