Gonzala made some nice additions for using jsUnity with serverjs on
his github branch:http://github.com/Gozala/jsunity/tree

I like that jsUnity is completely agnostic to environment at this
point, but the command line script and tester additions are
interesting. Perhaps an official serverjs branch could be added to
house serverjs dependent additions like this.

The Narwhal tests should probably be added to a branch of Narwhal
itself.

Nice work, Gonzala!

Hi Zach,

Thanks for bringing this up! I've seen Irakli's (Gonzala) contributions through the serverjs Google group (SSJS). It's a move that's exactly in the direction that I'd like jsUnity to take. I've been trying to find the time to focus on doing a similar thing; to sit down and write the necessary runners and tests for the evolving server-side JS APIs. The fine people at serverjs are actively seeking a framework to be used as the official SSJS test framework and I think jsUnity could be a good candidate, possibly pending the addition of a few basic features including nested test suites. Addressing any recommendations (or getting any hands-on help) in this regard is personally my #1 priority.

I'll take a closer look at Irakli's work and see if any runners/extensions can be directly included in the main jsUnity branch without comprimising its context-agnosticsm.

Yep, that's also where it was brought to my attention.

Perhaps provide a failing test as a specification and we can find ways
to implement it.

As long as jsUnity can be loaded fine it should be alright. The
additions that depended on Narhwal were not part of the core, AFAICT.
Perhaps later the Narhwal code could also be abstracted to run on any
serverjs compatible environment, but Narhwal is good for now, as it
supports multiple platforms.

I'm really excited about serverjs too. If I begin an implementation of
the spec as I was planning, I'll write the tests in jsUnity unless
another framework is chosen before then.
