Open only first level of a node (Level 1)

I want to open only the first level of a node. (childs are all opened=false)

I've tried to directly change the state.opened with a loop in the _model.data.

But when I call refresh_node nothing happens

It seems refresh_node reload the nodes, can whe "refresh" or "update" the tree without reloading ?

Any clues ?

Ive used:
$('#tree').jstree().open_node(ID);
