Dear jsPsych community,
GitHub recently added a Discussions feature, and the jsPsych project has been added into the beta test. Over the next few weeks we'll be trying to redirect support requests from this forum to the new discussions forum on GitHub. Eventually we will redirect all new content here to GitHub, but we expect the transition to be gradual as we update the various links and documentation to this space.
There are several benefits to the shift:
1. Questions and answers can be voted upon, to provide users searching for answers with a clearer indication of the quality of answers.
2. Code snippets can be formatted properly, making it much easier to post questions and answers with code.
3. A central location for the code and support should make it easier for new users to find help.
4. Eventually the discussions feature will include recognition of users who contribute lots via the support forum. These users deserve to be recognized as central to the jsPsych project and community, and this move should help with that.
The downside:
1. If you don't have a GitHub account you will need to create one to contribute to the conversation on the discussions forum. You can read the forum without an account.
When you visit the new forum you'll see lots of questions already posted. These are all of the questions that were asked via the GitHub Issues feature over the lifetime of the project. Unfortunately there is no simple way to move questions from this forum to GitHub, so we will make sure to keep this space available for archival purposes.
If you have any feedback about the move, please feel free to get in touch.
Josh
