jspm bundle x --config build.json question in v0.17

In jspm v0.17 -h shows:

jspm bundle x --config build.json   Use a custom config file for the build.

If I use a modified jspm.config.js for build.json I get an error:  Invalid JSON in config file jspm.myfile.js If I edit jspm.myfile.js to make it into a json file I get the same error.

So what is the spec for the --config file.

`--config` must correspond to a valid JSON file.
