Is there a possibility to use JSONpad without Adobe Air? As far as I
see it, it's mostly HTML, CSS, and JS anyway, and loading it into a
web browser already gives me the user interface. However, it does not
seem to provide many functionality, especially the edit-window does
not respond. Obviously, some AIR-specific functionality is used.

I see great benefit of this tool but I refrain from using Adobe AIR.
If run in a browser, it would be a perfectly usable and accessible
tool offered on the Web. I'd love it.

Hi Matthias,

You're totally right! It's nothing more than HTML, CSS and the most code is JavaScript.
It is possible to make it cross-compatible with browsers. The fact is that some stuff like
save JSON as file, needs a other solution than in AdobeAir.

But i also have a good message for you: it is already planned! There are 3 big steps which
i surely make this year: 1. A tabbed editor, 2. Full code redesign, 3. let it work for browsers
(at the beginning maybe just for chrome and firefox)
So i can't give you an exact time when i'll do this, cause at the moment my real job needs
much time from me.

greetings
Chris

P.S.: By your name I guess you are from germany, so we can speak in german too cause i'm from Austria ;)

Great! Since I am in great favor of this advancement, I'd like to
offer my contribution. As a reference, I am the active maintainer of
Oryx, the extensible, online model editor <http://oryx-project.org/
try>, <http://code.google.com/p/oryx-editor/>.

And since a great part of the work in this project contains editing
JSON I have a huge incentive to use and improve it. I am quite
knowledgeable in the named technologies (JS, CSS, HTML), so if you
like any help, don't hesitate to ask.

(For the language -- you're right, I'm German--, I suggest to stick to
English which gives non-German speakers the opportunity to make use of
the discussion group.)

Oryx looks very nice!!
Just preloading the images (or most of them) would make the usability a bit better :)

And i saw you're using ExtJS there too. I'm still learning it since half a year, that is one
reason why i want make a code redesign. So it is great that i could ask you for some tips
and/or some help. (Of course as a web developer i'm not new to javascript.. ;D)

You motivating me that i'll start soon with my ideas!
I'll write you some questions in the next few days if this is no problem for you.

greetings
Chris
