I have checked into my favorite resort for my 6th treatment at Mercy Hospital.  I am in room 713.  My white blood count was 3,300 this morning and my platelets were 132,000.  Neither one was award wining but they were sufficient.  My mother lobbied for a reduced treatment (sentence) as the doctor had mentioned last week and he removed one day from the last chemical.  Normally my first chemical is 24 hours and then I have the next every 12 hours for 2 hours over three days.  Dr. Needles has reduced it 2 days.  This is very nice, I might send him a Christmas card after all :).

Hopefully with one less day of treatment I can get out of here by the weekend.

Thanks for all of the prayers, they are definitely working.  Feel free to add a comment in your prayers for my growth in forgiveness and character improvement with respect to the divorce that ended last July.  So much healing and so little time.  It may be that the cancer treatment is just a big hammer from God to help me let go of other things and see things from a new perspective.  He does use very large hammers when it comes to helping me realign.  It's funny, none of my old managers had that problem, I was always such an easy subordinate :).

John

I have been in the hospital myself so I haven’t been up to see you but I have been staying up with your emails. I also see you haven’t lost your sense of humor. I probably wouldn’t have responded to this email either until I saw your last sentence which somehow put some extra pep in my attitude for the day. I can feel the adrenalin surging already!!

But seriously, I sounds like you are doing pretty well given the situation and hopefully I can get over my issues and get up to see you sometime soon.

Good Luck buddy

I'm sure once you and your mother flush out all the hate, spite and ill feelings you will feel much better. Maintain a positive attitude.
