I only lasted a day out of the hospital before I had a fever of 101 that brought me back. Of course, once I arrived at the hospital my temperature was back to 99.6. My new room number is 764. It was good to have the short time at home.

I have had countless blood tests but they have found no reason for them temperature. The general sense is that the drop in my immune system may have caused it. When I arrived Tuesday morning at 2:30 am, my white blood count had dropped from 2.2 earlier in the day to .08. My platelets had been at 21,000 around noon on Monday and were at 16,000 when I arrived. I had an infusion of platelets yesterday and two units of blood today.

The good news is that I had a chest X-Ray when I arrived in the ER, presumably to check for pneumonia, there was no sign of the tumor at all. It is all gone.

When I was released on Monday afternoon, just before departure, my leg muscles started to hurt, making walking tough. I struggled through Tuesday trying to walk, standing up and sitting down has been the hardest. The muscles feel knotted and bruises, they even hurt to the touch. The doctors have checked for numerous possible causes but come up dry. I will likely have an MRI on them tomorrow. They seemed to be at their worst this morning as I went to the restroom, 15ft away. I even used a walker to traverse the distance but it was a true test of endurance. I realized when I returned to my bed that I had not taken a pain reliever before doing that, so this is now a prerequisite. I all walking at this point requires the use of a walker.

It is hard to say how long I will be in the hospital, but I think it will break my record of 10 days. I can't leave until my immune system returns, which is not likely to happen before Sunday. I continue to receive booster shots everyday to encourage the immune system return, but following the last treatment, things were slow to return.

I will keep you all posted. Thank you for all of the prayers.

John-

Great news on the tumor being gone!

Hang in there my friend, you will be up and at it soon enough.  We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. (Psalm 46:1-3)

WOW...NO TUMOR...THAT'S AWESOME NEWS!!!!  Let them take care of you there - I know you'd rather be home, but I think you'll get better faster at the hospital - they'll make sure you rest , eat and DON'T WORK!  Take it easy and continued strength and recovery to you John!  love...
