I visited John at lunch today. Doctor Schaeffer's report was that his hemoglobin was a little better than yesterday and the platelets were about the same (not great). His white count went up from 2.3 to 2.5 (keep praying for those white cells--- they are going in the right direction). His kidneys continue to put out good numbers, so the doctors are happy with that.
His belly is softer today and seemed a little better than yesterday, although he seems to have the same amount of pain today as yesterday. His blood pressure continues to be good without the aid of blood pressure medication. They stopped trying to wean him off of the ventilator, since it didn't go that well over the weekend.
Dr. Schaeffer said they are going to continue treating him as they have been, and seemed happy there was no regression.
He was animated today and was trying to tell me something, but since I'm terrible at charades, I'm not sure I completely understood what he was trying to say. I think he was trying to say he couldn't breath, but the ventilator is functioning well, so I'm not sure if I got that right.
Thanks again for all of your support and prayers! We appreciate them more than you know!
