Hi,

Have a look at SMPP 3.4 Ref p. 112.

ESME_RINVSRCADR | 0x0000000A | Invalid Source Address

Hi again,

Be sure that TON match Source Address. For example you may set TON to
Alphanumeric and send from an International number or vise versa.
There are also some limitations for each TON type's address length.
Some centers ignore these issues but some of them apply strict rules.

Amin

This is not a must. you may ask from the SMS Center operators which
TON/NPI/Address types they support. Maybe there is a range dedicated
to your account and hence you should set sender address to numbers
limited to that range.

If account does not have any specific range, try with simple dst
addresses then then switch to IP based NPI.

Thanks,
Amin

But the SMSC has a dedicated connection to my testBed(machine)
I have provided the submit PDU with sourceaddress field as
address of my machine(aa.bb.cc.dd format)

But then also this error comes.
What may be the reason?

if you put TON/NPI=5/0 so make sure that the alphanumerical address doesn't exceed 11 characters

you can put TON/NPI=1/1 and the adress is for exampl a four/five digit umber or the MS ISDN in international format without 00 or +

if you are connected to some SMPP gateways (SMSC,...0 in the operator side they may specify the TON/NPI or control the source address that you are allowed to use so just ask about it

Basically,i want to know whether my message has being delivered to the
destination,
So i m requesting for a delivery reciept.
For delivery receipt to reach my server, i should give the ipaddress
of my server in the source address range.
my server ip is having 12 characters.
In that case, How shall i resolve this situation

Best Regards,
Anoop

the SMSC doesn't route the response back(in this case your delivery report) based on what you have as source address in your submit_sm but based on your short code number which is determinate from the SMSC basically by a unique combinition of your system_id and system_type .

so you can put what ever you want in source address when submitting your SMS to the SMSC will send you the notification accrdinaly.
