Hi there,

Firstly, I’d like to express my gratitude for the remarkable software and the immense effort put into it. I've been exploring the option of signing a PDF via JSignPdf using an advanced certificate, and the signature process has been impressively smooth!

I am currently curious about the compatibility of JSignPdf with a D-Trust (a qualified trust services provider) smart card and card reader. I aim to utilize these to sign a PDF with a qualified electronic signature (QES), aligning with the eIDAS regulation requirements.

It would be greatly helpful if someone could recommend specific card readers and that works well in this context with jSignPdf. I've seen you need to specify some sort of DLL for JSignPdf to interface with the card reader - I dont know where to find documentation on this or how to evaluate which card reader works for me.

Lastly, I am intrigued to understand the necessity of the CloudFoxy project, given that jSignPDF inherently supports PKCS#11.

Thank you for your assistance and guidance.

Best Regards,
Jakob

I have been using a LuxTrust smart card for about a year now to apply QES to pdfs, using a Gemalto IDBridge CT30 reader. The library which I used is Gemalto's gclib.dll.

Gotcha, thank you for your response, but how did you use QES with a LuxTrust smart card? Afaik, LuxTrust is not a trust service provider listed by the Bundesnetzagentur?

LuxTrust is on the EU Trusted List. I guess that’s what matters for eIDAS. Unless you have specific requirements?
