Dear JSignPdf users,
after 4 years of JSignPdf existence, I've decided to discontinue the
project development.
I have several reasons for this hard decision.
The first and most important is my time - I need more of this limited
commodity for my growing family. I want to say a big thank you to my
wife, which supported me all the time and silently endured my hours
spent at the computer.
The second reason is related to the iText (PDF manipulation library on
which the JSignPdf is based). JSignPdf uses a slightly modified
version 2.1.7, which is 3 years old and contains several bugs. Even
it should be simple to convert the application from 2.1.x version of
iText to the new 5.x branch, it's not. The problem is the new iText
licensing (read
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/legal/2011-June/001656.html).
In recent 4 years, the JSignPdf which started as a small sample
OpenOffice.org plugin, become a program with many features and big
user base. I would like to thank also all the contributors,
translators and everyone who supported the project.
What next?
A new Google group for JSignPdf users was created and if time allows I
will comment the support requests there. I won't reply anymore to the
support requests which goes directly to my email. Please use the
Google group -

Source codes of the JSignPdf and JSignPdf-itxt (modified iText
library) are in the GitHub repositories
(
https://github.com/kwart/jsignpdf,
https://github.com/kwart/jsignpdf-itxt). You can "fork" the
repository, change sources, build new projects from them. Or simply
fix bugs and add new features and then create "pull request" to my
original branch. I could still create new versions if necessary.
Best regards,
