Selecting all objects at once

Hi All

I have been testing jscut with simple designs and images in Inkscape most of the time no more than 2 objects in the dashboard.

Now I am trying to use a svg file with a pcb design and as you know it has lots of objects and I wonder if there is sort of "CTRL A" command that can select all the objects at once. It is hard trying to select 100+ objects.

It sounds like Inkscape's Path->Union command will do what you need.

I have tried using Inkscape but it just freezes whilst processing.

Do you happen to know a good tool  to perform the  union of obejects within svg files, Inkscape does not seem to be capable of handling that amount of objects.

I don't know of another free tool, but there might be a workaround in Inkscape. If none of your polygons touch each other then Path -> Combine may work; it's a simpler operation.

so the answer is "no, you cannot select all in jscut, but you can preprocess your file in another software to join the pieces"
this seems odd to me. In fact, it seems odd to me that you have to select anything in your svg file- shouldn't the default be all selected?
