I thought you weren't going to handle clustering and wait for the
Redis cluster project. Why did you change your mind?
At first glance your new extension looks promising, I'll try and use

As a side note - there are some JUnit features you could use to make
your tests more readable, for example expected exceptions (http://
junit.sourceforge.net/doc/faq/faq.htm#tests_7) and assumptions before
running tests (http://www.junit.org/apidocs/org/junit/Assume.html)
Well, too many people have asked for it and the time table for the
redis proxy is unknown.
+ JRedis uses TestNG.
